Tradition

Ceremony and Celebration

We are continuing the sacred responsibility of carrying our traditional Ceremonies and practices into the next seven generations.

Moon Gatherings

  • Planting Moon Celebration (May) - a time to plant and to celebrate.
  • Strawberry Moon Celebration (July) - the time for harvesting strawberries
  • Harvest Moon Celebration (October) - the time of harvesting corn

Annual Powwow (September)

We have been holding an annual powwow for more than four decades.  We will celebrate our 42nd annual powwow in 2025.  This event helps to promote reconnection with our family, other tribes and the earth, and is a proclamation of our Nipmuck pride and celebration of life. Our powwow is typically held in September at Lake Siog in Holland, Massachusetts. Drumming and dancing are performed and food and craft vendors add additional things to do throughout the day.
